Bio
Matthew Dunn, CSEE, has worked in the sports and entertainment industries for over 24 years. His professional career began in 1996 with the British Olympic Camp, located in Tallahassee, FL; a training camp for British athletes to become more acclimated to the southeastern United States prior to the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games. He then served with Seminole Boosters, Inc., the Tallahassee Sports Council and the Florida State University Varsity Club. Dunn is a graduate of Florida State University earning both a BS and MS in Athletic Administration.
Work History
In 1998, Matthew accepted a role with the Gainesville Sports Commission that included service as an employee and, later, as a member of the Board of Trustees until 2005. During his time in Gainesville, he also acted as an adjunct professor at the University of Florida teaching a Business Administration course to Sport Management majors and worked as an independent contractor for high profile events such as the US Pro Cycling Tour and ESPN’s X Games and Great Outdoor Games. His work then led him to Orlando and Florida Citrus Sports where he helped manage the 2005 and 2006 Capital One and Champs Sports collegiate football bowl games, in addition to several other event properties. He then served as the Executive Director of both the Ocala/Marion County Visitors and Convention Bureau and the Ocala/Marion County Sports Commission. In 2011, he founded The Dunn Agency, LLC and served as the organization’s President/CEO until 2014. From 2014 until 2019, he led the destination marketing organization (DMO) for Flagler County, FL. He currently serves as the President/CEO of Raconteurs, including properties such as PUSH Magazine and the Sunshine Sports Council. He is also the Co-Founder of Salty Sports Society, an open water swimming event series, and RaceHawk, a race registration platform.
Expertise
His work provides expertise in sales and marketing solutions, relevancy testing, leadership development and business essentials for small to mid-market DMOs and Sports Commissions. Additionally, Matthew assists clients with the production of event and product feasibility studies, including consulting and onsite event management services, tools and tactics to increase destination exposure and creative for compelling advertising campaigns.
