Episode 2: Organizing Events at Scale Using Tags and the Manage Events Page

As tournaments and sports organizations continue to grow, event owners require more effective tools to organize, categorize, and manage their events at scale. Episode 2 of the EventConnect Technology Series features a conversation between Brandon and Matt, highlighting the Manage Events page as a central operational hub for partners.

A Better Way to See Your Events

EventConnect introduced the Manage Events page to give organizers a high-level, real-time view of every event in their portfolio. Instead of relying on spreadsheets or fragmented workflows, partners can quickly identify active events, upcoming deadlines, and points of collaboration with their internal teams.

For volunteer-based organizations, this provides a straightforward and quick way to track progress. For larger organizations, the page serves as a lightweight CRM by consolidating activities and enabling teams to work from a shared source of truth.

Tags: Flexible Organization for Any Workflow

A key feature highlighted in the episode is the Tags system. Tags allow organizers to sort events by sport type, region, season, internal ownership, or custom workflows. Tags can be private (used only internally) or public-facing on multi-event websites, making them useful in both internal management and customer-facing experiences.

This flexibility allows teams to group events by staff member, level of priority, category, or any context that supports strategic planning. Multiple tags can be applied to the same event, giving organizations a multidimensional way to stay organized as they scale.

Powering Collaboration

Tags and Regions also help EventConnect’s internal account teams collaborate with partners, ensuring visibility into which events need outreach, attention, or preparation. The Manage Events dashboard, therefore, becomes more than a list — it becomes the foundation of weekly planning, partner syncs, and group ownership.

Supporting the Modern Tournament Organizer

As Brandon and Matt discuss in the episode, the industry has undergone significant evolution. Many organizers now manage large portfolios, often with year-round operations. The Manage Events page enables these organizations to move quickly, maintain clarity, and stay aligned around shared event goals.
