SportsPITTSBURGH is the sports development division of VisitPITTSBURGH, the official tourism agency of Allegheny County. Its mission is to generate positive economic activity in Pittsburgh’s legendary sports city through bidding on and hosting sporting events.
SportsPITTSBURGH works to maximize the value and impact sporting events bring to the city and its residents. The team also serves as brand ambassadors, promoting Pittsburgh’s message as the ultimate destination to host major sporting events.
Between 2018-2022, Pittsburgh was awarded 22 NCAA preliminary and championship events, more than any other city.
Working With EventConnect
As a sporting event destination, SportsPITTSBURGH offers their Event Owners a sport-specific accommodations platform through EventConnect (a full-suite event-management platform).
The first event that will take advantage of this platform is The Hoop Group Pittsburgh Jam Fest, which projects to have over 200 travelling teams this April.
